3 Ways To Turn Off YouTube Annotations

Annotations and in-video notifications on YouTube are designed to inform you about the new video clips of the person who had uploaded the video that you watch. These annotations can be so annoying that it is almost impossible to watch the certain video. It often happens that annotations cover the whole video clip and it will be there until you manually close it. But, there is a way to turn off these annotations completely, so that you can watch the video clips on YouTube without these annoying things. 3 Ways To Turn Off Annotations On YouTube

For these actions, you need to have your own Google account and to be signed in on YouTube. After that, you can use one of the three ways displayed bellow to turn off all annotations.

The first way is the hardest way. You can manually remove every single annotation during the play of the video.

Open your favorite YouTube video. Then, the annotations will show up. To turn them off, point the mouse cursor on “x” next to the annotation and click on it.

The second way is to disable all annotations for just one video.

When you open the favorite video, click on the gear icon, and in the small menu, you will see “Annotations” item. Slide to the left to disable it.

The third and the most convenient way is to completely disable annotations and cards for any video that you watch on YouTube.

In the top-right corner of the screen, click on account photo and in the small pop-up window, click on the gear icon to open “Account settings”. On the left side of the screen, you will see “Playback” option. Click on it, and in the next video uncheck the option “Show annotations and in-video notifications”.

After that, when you signed in on YouTube, you will never see these annotations again.
