Android Phones Will Have 3D Touch-like From Synaptic

3D Touch is the new user interface, popularized by Apple through their iPhone 6s and 6s plus. This technology can recognize the different pressure levels. Apple uses it for their peek and pop feature, and quick action. This technology is different from the force touch on Apple Watch and MacBook Pro, which can only recognize one pressure level. The 3D Touch is a unique user interface, and at this moment it can only be found on iPhone 6s and 6s plus. As usual, Apple will use this 3D Touch technology to other iOS devices, such as iPad.

This new technology can be used by developers to create great applications and games for iPhone 6s. If you are an Android fan, you will be excited with this news: “Android phones will have 3D Touch-like from Synaptic.” They call it the ClearPad 3700 force-sensing touchscreen controller. The company hopes will be packed inside of the 2016 flagship Android smartphones. In the release note, the ClearPad 3700 force-sensing touchscreen controller has these features:

  • Latest flagship discrete touch controller for smartphones
  • Support new technologies, including the ClearForce variable force sensing, and SideTouch™ for edge gesturing such as scroll and tap – as featured in the new Xiaomi Mi4c
  • Massive performance upgrade, doubling MIPS and memory over its predecessor to enable advanced features
  • Supports unique active and passive stylus capabilities as well as non-touch hover performance at distances up to 25mm.

It seems that this will be similar to the Apple’s Touch ID technology, which can be easily found on today’s Android phones, so does with 3D Touch technology on the iPhone 6s, which will be used on the Android phones next year.
