Apple CEO Tim Cook: 40 Million People Are Using Apple News

Tim Cook said 40 million people are using Apple News.

During the fourth quarter earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the Apple News service has around 40 million users.

However, Mr. Cook didn’t say if the number he revealed represents people who use the service regularly, or it is just the number of users who at some point accessed the Apple News app.

The app was launched as the part of iOS 9. It comes with a beautiful design, but most importantly, it collects the stories users are interested in from the leading news sources, so people won’t miss anything that’s important.

The service wasn’t available in the UK, but last week Apple finally rolled out the News app though iOS 9.1 and it became available for the UK users.

For Apple News service, Apple partnered up with different publications, including The New York Times, ESPN, CNN, The Daily Mail, The Atlantic, Slate, BBC, Sky News, Sun, Telegraph, The Guardian, Trinity Mirror, Cosmopolitan, Vanity Fair, and more.

Speaking of numbers, during the WSJDLive, The Wall Street Journal’s global technology conference, Tim Cook said Apple Music has 15 million users, 8.5 million currently using three-month trial and 6.5 million paid subscribers.
