Apple secretly announced the replacement program for the video card of Mac Pro late 2013, according to the source via 9to5mac. This program is only announced to the AppleCare partners, the authorized service provider, and not to the public. In that announcement, Apple gives information that Mac Pro, which was manufactured on February 8, 2015, and April 11, 2015. The symptom related to the video card issue, are:

  • Distorted or scrambled video on the external display
  • No video on the external display even though the computer is on
  • Computer freezes or restarts unexpectedly
  • Computer will not start up

If your Mac Pro is eligible for the video card replacement, you can get it free, even though the warranty for that unit is expired.
