iPhone SE Contact Images Don’t Show Up Any Longer

Some users were troubled to notice that their contact images went missing. The problem generally occurred when you are in a conversation and the top of the page shows the contact photo. Some users reported that they began noticing the problem after they updated to iOS 10.2.1. These solutions will help you fix the problem:

Solution 1: Restart your device

The quickest and easiest way to solving this problem is to restart your iPhone SE. Most users found that restarting the phone stopped the issue permanently. But a few were still facing the problem.

Solution 2: Re-add the Images

You must first of all check that the images that you were using for Contacts have not been deleted accidentally. If they are available in your Photo Library then you must try to delete the images from the contacts and add them once again.

  • In your Address Book, highlight the card with the photo that you want to delete
  • Go tap on Card
  • Tap on Clear Custom Image

Once the image is deleted, you can add the photo once again by:

  • Tapping on the contact name
  • Tapping on Edit
  • Tapping on Add Photo

Then choose the folder in which the photo is saved and assign the photo to your contact once again.

Solution 3: Check Message Settings to make sure Contact Images can be seen

For some users, it was easy as ensuring that the Message Settings allows you to see the Contact images.

  • Head to the Settings menu
  • Tap on Messages
  • Look for an option that says Show Contact Photos and toggle it on.

Solution 4: Use Standard View instead of Display Zoom

When you use Display Zoom on your phone, then it automatically removes the contact images. If this is the case then you must revert to Standard View so that you can see the contact images.

  • Launch the Settings app
  • Go to Accessibility
  • Find Zoom and tap to turn it off
