You can use Spotify not only on your smartphone but also on your Windows PC. All you have to do is get the app from the Microsoft Store and log in.

Most of the time, the app and the service work like a charm. On some occasions, users faced an issue where the error message saying “Spotify failed to migrate some of your data” showed up. Let’s see how to fix it.

Removing the app from the PC and installing it again worked for some users. However, many who tried the same didn’t fix the issue. Here is another thing to do:

  • Open the Task Manager on your PC (ctrl+alt+delete), and close all Spotify processes that are running
  • Go to {User}\AppData\Roaming and delete Spotify folders.
  • Go to {User]\AppData\Local\Packages and delete Spotify folders from there as well.
  • Uninstall the Spotify app (Windows version)
  • Next, you will have to delete the registry key for the Spotify app
:Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\

Once you complete all these steps, head to the Microsoft Store and download the Spotify app. Run the app after installation. It should work normally and no errors should appear.
