Tips and Tricks for iPhone 5s

Setting up Touch ID

Begin by making sure that the Home button and your fingers are clean so that the prints can be recorded effectively. To set it up, you must go to:

  • Settings
  • Then tap on Touch ID & Passcode
  • Enter Passcode if it’s asked and then tap on Add a Fingerprint

Gently hold your finger on the Home button. Remember not to press it down, but just hold it for the phone to scan your finger. You will feel a slight vibration that confirms that the scanner has completed the process. If you want the fingerprint scanner to work more effectively for you, then you can allow it to scan different angles of the same finger so that it works with better accuracy.

You can have up to five different fingerprints on your phone. Tap on Edit at the top of the screen to rename the different fingerprints according to your requirements. You can delete old entries and add new ones too. If a fingerprint entry is not being recognized then you may want to redo it for better success.

Getting Flashing Alerts

If you want your phone to flash a light alerting you of a notification then go to Settings and then head into General. Look up Accessibility and tap on it and you will notice an option that says Flash for Alerts. Toggle it on to get the phone’s LED light to flash when you get a new notification.

This is helpful when you are in a noisy environment. Remember that there is no special notification light built into the iPhone 5s, but the LED flash is a handy trick.

iPhone 5s won the hearts of many users. Despite some of its shortcomings that annoyed some users, for the most part of it, iPhone 5s was able to garner positive attention. The gold model found a lot of admirers too. Since Apple had not open pre-sales for the iPhone 5s, early sales of the phones are known to have gone so high that stores ran out of stock too quickly. Some buyers who had queued up at the stores ended up disappointed because the phone was out of stock in some stores before all people in the queue could buy it. While the US stores re-stocked quickly, many other stores around the world grappled with the high demand and low stocks of the iPhone 5s. This only proved that the phone was liked by many people.

Launched along with the iPhone 5s was the iPhone 5c, a more colorful version of iPhone in a company that had limited all its phone models to black and white earlier. It was very similar to the iPhone 5 in functionalities, but it was created to earn the attention of customers looking for an affordable iPhone.
